You’ve planned your vacation down to the minute. You know exactly where you want to be and what you want to do.

And then it starts to rain. And not just a little drizzle, either, but the heavy downpour of a coastal storm.

Sure, you could curl up in your condo rental with a good book and a hot cup of tea – and we wouldn’t be surprised if you did! – but if that’s not your speed, there’s lots to do, even on rainy days, in Panama City Beach.

If you’ve driven through Panama City Beach, you’ve probably noticed the upside down house over on Front Beach Road. A rainy day is the perfect time to explore Wonderworks! Check out the Wonder zones, get lunch at the Snack Shack, and stay entertained and dry for hours!

Ripley’s Believe It Or Not

If an upside down house isn’t strange enough for you, then check out the boat that got parked just down the street. Ripley’s Believe It or Not will delight every gross-stuff loving cell in your body. Play laser tag, explore, and have a great afternoon.

Sea Maze at Race City

It’s not enough to be under the weather; at Race City, the Sea Maze puts you under the water, but still keeps you dry. Explore the underwater depths as you search for Davy Jones’s locker.

Indoor Black Light Mini Golf at Race City

Everyone has an indoor mini golf course; Race City has an indoor black light mini golf course. You won’t believe how awesome this is. You have to see it for yourself. It might even make you wish for rain.

IMAX Cinemas

Most major cities have an IMAX theater, but if you haven’t gotten to experience this amazing movie presentation format yourself, you have to check this out while you’re in Panama City Beach! Check out what’s showing at the Grand Pier Park 16 and spend a couple hours of your rainy day indoors!

Go shopping for souvenirs!

Either check out Pier Park, if you don’t mind ducking in and out of the rain, or head to the traditional shopping mall for drier shopping excursion.

Take the chance to eat out!

Panama City Beach is packed with amazing restaurants that you should sample while you’re in town. Of course the condo rentals at Pelican Walk offer fully stocked kitchens, but sometimes you want your dinner cooked for you. If you’re not sure where to go for your favorite type of cuisine, just ask, we’ll be happy to point the way!

Put on your raincoat and splash around on the beach

As long as the forecast doesn’t involve lightning or high winds, it can be incredibly fun to splash through the sand on a wet and rainy day. It’s a different experience than sun and shimmer on the sand, but we’d argue it’s just as lovely.

Board game championship

If you’ve decided to stay holed up in your room, one great option is to hop out to the store for a few board games. Buy a couple of inexpensive prizes while you’re out to compete for, and keep score just as viciously as you did when you were kids. Teach your kids how to play games that you had forgotten about until right now. You’ll love it.

At Pelican Walk, we want every day of your vacation to be one to remember. If you’re not sure what you want to do on a rainy day, get in touch! We’ll help you find something that will keep you occupied and suit your group!
